WELCOME:   'Art by Naomi' features a variety of creative expressions by west coast Canadian artist, Naomi Searl.
Delving into creativity and following its path is a daily experience for me. I'm happy to be sharing that journey and hope that you enjoy your visit. Do stop by often to see what I've been up to in the studio.
ABOUT:   At heart, I'm a small town girl who grew up on the prairies, smack dab in the middle of Canada, along the Red River. While growing up, paper dolls created from Sears catalogs began my fascination with collage and mixed media. Crayons, glue, scissors, paint & paper were always on hand to feed & nurture a growing creative spark.
During my teen years my family moved on from the prairies & rivers of Manitoba to the mountains of the West Coast. Eventually, as an adult, I moved onto a quiet island surrounded by the ocean, a year long display of green trees with meandering country roads. It's here, on my little island, that all manner of creativity has grown and sprouted wings.
I spend my days enjoying the slowness of island living, spontaneous and intuitive bursts of creativity, gardening & the members of my family both furry and non-furry.  - naomi
