Took a day trip today, an hour north of us to this beautiful, sun drenched beach. We walked the dogs along the edge of the park cuz dogs were not allowed onto the beach, for, I guess, obvious reasons. One being, the small minority of people who don't clean up after their dogs. Don't get me started on that. Would bring on a rant - I'm sure.
Once past the park boundaries we played, splashed and walked and walked - out to the water's edge. The tide was out so yes, it was a good hour of walking.
It was a lovely time.
The dogs loved their play time.
Now, I'm exhausted.
That good kind of tired from the sun and the breeze.

It's no surprise, that by now, mid summer, the effects of heat and lack of rain are taking its toll. The daily chore now is to spend a good portion of my evenings hauling the garden hose around the yard, to strategic positions and let my precious plants drink. So far the lawn is looking like it's been given a reprieve from the heat, thanks being to above garden chores. Nothing is as saddening as a forlorn, bone dry lawn. Well, I guess there are some things worse and yes, I have come to realize that I'm a bit of a 'must keep the lawn green, all summer' fanatic. Snob, maybe.
But, the above shows the other side of things. The beautiful earthy, wheat browns of a wild field. That, I have no problem with.
That I do consider beautiful. It's one of my pleasures, a drive through the country along those lovely fields.

This is seriously one 'quiet' place. Have been MIA in blog-ville, the non-exciting excuse is busyness. Really, busy. As far as creativity goes, I've been hunkered down with a project that is nearing completion, that is to say, wee into the night hours I plug away at it and am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It's been good.
Other than that I've been, let's see ....
Hauling the hose/sprinkler around the yard to give some respite from the heat.
Playing grand-ma.
Eating tons of fresh fruit.
Walking dogs.
Eating ice-cream.
And ....
Just general summer stuff, which translates to water - fruit - ice-cream - sunshine.

Felling very much like that small, little yellow bud. Just relaxing, surrounded by a very nice sense of peace and calm. Life is good. Life is actually exciting right now even tho there are no great plans afoot, there's just a great feeling of being blessed. Got some creative projects on the go, family is good, friends are fine, pets are keeping us busy, the weather is gorgeous, the garden is a wonderful retreat.
Not a single thing to complain about.
I guess for some that would make this a very boring post. No upheaval, no drama, just goodness.
Resting in that right now - God is good!

So, we are approaching a nice long weekend. Some of my working crew have managed to sneak in a extra day - yeah for extra non working days with my family members.

Quiet here, seems the clouds have returned, which is not a complaint. Really! We do need the rain, the flower beds were requiring a drink every early morning and, well, it's nice to have a little break from that daily job. Rain, so taken for granted. We seem to have enough, always enough and to think we complain about it when many have only a few drops.
Just returned from a nice long walk with Meghan and the dogs with the rain just a gentle drizzle - felt so good, so refreshing. Am finding little special moments in my day here and there were the simplest things bring those moments of refreshing. It's good to stop and take notice.
There's always something to be thankful for.
